Measure flow, not just criticality

Monitor both the reliability of weekly work completion and progress toward contractual commitments.
Traditional project delivery methodologies have tended to emphasise either strategic milestone tracking or day-to-day workflow reliability, but rarely both in concert. This creates blind spots in project delivery.
When teams focus exclusively on milestone dates, they may miss the growing accumulation of non-critical delays until these delays suddenly impact the project timeline. Conversely, achieving perfect workflow reliability doesn't guarantee milestone achievement if the work being reliably completed isn't advancing strategic objectives.
The power lies in connecting these perspectives—measuring both the reliability of weekly commitments and their impact on contractual milestones. This balanced measurement creates a more complete picture of project health and allows for earlier, more effective intervention.
